Innovation & Technical Manager

Steve has overall responsibility for innovation, process and product development for the Food & Solutions division of ANZCO Foods, with over 30 years in the meat industry, an unrivalled depth of knowledge. This includes a balanced overview of all aspects of the business, from producing livestock, through to delivering to overseas markets. His strategic planning abilities have been finely tuned over the years, and his broad range of skills and experience are utilised and applied to process and business innovation, where he identifies new technologies and areas for process improvement. His analytical approach is applied across the board to evaluating opportunities, solving problems and finding creative solutions.

Having joined ANZCO in 2005, Steve worked as Production Manager for the new build CMP Rangitikei lamb plant and as Business Development Manager for the ANZCO group's research and development division, then Business Development Manager for the healthcare business before assuming his current role of Innovation & Technical Manager. Prior to joining ANZCO, Steve's roles included Sales and Marketing Manager, Production Manager, Plant Manager, operations Manager and General Manager.

With an Honours degree in Food Technology, Steve has played an integral part in helping to establish a product development model for the company's food and healthcare businesses.

As well as being a professional member of the NZIFST (New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology) and the New Zealand Institute of Directors, Steve is a Director of Ovine Automation Limited (OAL), an industry collaboration initiative focussed on robotics and process automation systems that streamline processing.

Steve's unique skills and experience help ANZCO's market position where the company guarantees full supply chain management, ensuring total traceability and security of all its products.

Away from the office, Steve enjoys house renovation and restoring furniture, along with working out at the gym and riding motor cycles.
