ANZCO support

Posted on Wednesday, 15 March 2023

We continue to learn more about the devastation Cyclone Gabrielle has caused – particularly in the agriculture, horticulture, and viticulture areas of Tairawhiti and Hawke’s Bay.

While agriculture is important to New Zealand and its economy, it is at the centre of our business.

So many people across the regions have lost so much. Many are still cut-off, without access to key services, and it will take a long time to recover.

We are hearing more about this situation every day, and needs will change as this recovery progresses. The wider industry is supporting farmers through the recovery, helping with urgent and practical needs. ANZCO Foods has worked with those on the ground in Tairawhiti and Hawke’s Bay to provide 25MT of meat to marae and food banks as well as dog biscuits and feed to farmers.

We will continue to monitor the situation and identify ways we can support people in these regions.

Kia kaha.
