Canterbury Shutdown

On Thursday 20 June, the Canterbury Engineering team conducted its annual pre-shutdown induction for all contractors, with more than 50 contractors attending. They heard updates from the Canterbury team about maintenance, traffic flow challenges, and health and safety.

Shutdown is a busy time for all our sites, and Canterbury is no different, with many R&M and CAPEX projects installed in a two-week period. One of the projects is expanding the beef packroom, which is going live this shutdown. Among other things, an automatic carton erector and lidder are being installed, which increases space in the packing area and reduces manual tasks.
