What is Speak Up? | Speak Up 2024

ANZCO Foods’ annual speak up campaign aims to provide you with tools and information to help you have better conversations at work (and they can be used outside work too).

In a difficult situation it’s sometimes hard to speak up… maybe we’re surprised at what a person said, maybe the person is senior to us, or maybe we don’t like confrontation. But if we don’t speak up, we are signalling that we’re okay with what was said.

Having a Speak up campaign helps us have a strong healthy culture. It promotes a fair, inclusive and respectful workplace. Speak up supports our Back each other value which is about treating people the way we’d want to be treated and it supports June’s LGBT Pride month Pride month which celebrates the diversity of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) communities.

At ANZCO we don’t tolerate bullying, harassment, or discrimination. It’s not that we think we have a major problem in this space but we know people sometimes say things without thinking or react badly to a situation and then say something they shouldn’t.

Our Speak up campaign aims to give you the tools to say something when you hear something that’s not right in a way that isn’t confrontational.

This year’s campaign features new information each week during June to build on the material we’ve shared in previous years.
