ANZCO Foods Scholarship
Each year ANZCO Foods will award four scholarships for up to $5,000 each for up to three years’ tertiary study or an apprenticeship.
The four scholarships are available to immediate family of waged ANZCO employees, who work at our processing or manufacturing sites. This includes children, step-children, spouses/partners and direct whānau of employees, or other immediate family members that ANZCO accepts as eligible.
The recipients need to be studying at a New Zealand university or polytechnic, or completing an apprenticeship in New Zealand.
The scholarship will cover costs associated with the course/activity (living expenses, course fees, books, practicals, tools and equipment).
At the end of each year the scholarship recipients will need to provide a written update on their year’s study and results, or for apprenticeships that they’ve completed during the year.
Scholarship funding for the second and third years is contingent on the recipient passing the previous year/successfully completing their apprenticeship requirements.
Scholarship recipients may also be offered paid holiday work at ANZCO Foods. The company will endeavour to make the holiday work relevant to the recipients’ area of study, but this may not always be possible.
Application forms are available at sites and online here.
The scholarship selection committee will comprise:
- A member of the Board
- CEO
- GM People and Capability
- Group Manager Communications and Sustainability

Questions and answers
What can I use the scholarship money for?
Anything to do with your study or apprenticeship including living expenses, course fees, books, practicals, tools and equipment.
Why is it available to waged staff only?
We are making this offer to immediate family of our waged team in the first instance as this is where we felt we could make the most difference. Depending on how it goes we may look at extending it.
How do I apply?
Applications forms are available at site reception areas or please completed this editable online application form. Please return the forms to scholarships@anzcofoods.com along with the items noted in the application form before 16 August 2024.
Who is able to apply for the scholarships?
The four scholarships are available to immediate family of waged ANZCO employees, who work at our processing or manufacturing sites. This includes children, step-children, spouses/partners and direct whānau of employees, or other immediate family members that ANZCO accepts as eligible.
What if all the ANZCO Foods scholarships aren’t awarded – will you extend it to the immediate family of salaried employees?
Not at this stage.
Who decides who will get the scholarships?
A panel of four people including a member of the ANZCO Foods board, the CEO, the Group Manager Communications and Sustainability, and the GM People and Capability.
Does the area of study need to align to ANZCO’s business?
No – the scholarships are for any tertiary study (university or polytechnic) or a trade.
What do I have to do to be considered?
You will need to have been accepted into your course/apprenticeship and ideally have a good history of achievement at school.
If I’m awarded an ANZCO Foods scholarship, can I apply for/accept scholarships from other people or other organisations?
Our preference would be that you accept only one scholarship to ensure as many people as possible can access help for their study or training.
What do I need to provide to be considered?
You need to be a family member of a waged employee and provide all of the requested material:
- A cover-letter style profile about yourself
- Your most recent academic record/an outline of your apprenticeship requirements
- Two written reference letters
