This month ANZCO Foods celebrates its 40th anniversary. Sir Graeme Harrison started the company as a meat marketing business in 1984. Today we have 3,000 employees, most of whom are based at our seven processing and two manufacturing sites around the country. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Building sector support for wool

New Zealand’s strong wool growers consistently produce some of the best wool in the world but they are largely disconnected from the brands, locally and internationally, that use their fibre.

Wool Impact, formed mid-2022, is a partnership between the New Zealand government and the sheep sector that aims to rebuild New Zealand’s global reputation as the world’s best wool producer and restore profitability to strong wool growers. ANZCO Foods is one of industry supporters of Wool Impact.

With a move away from plastics, global brands are looking for natural fibre solutions. Wool Impact has been developing an understanding what’s important to these brands and is updating the positioning and evidence that will help them choose New Zealand wool, as a fibre fit for the future.

The sector is often criticised for lacking cohesion. Wool Impact has been providing sector leadership and actively working with others that share a value for growers mindset and coordinate activities in a way that improves impact and reduces duplication.
