Meet Harley Davison

Slaughterfloor Supervisor at ANZCO Foods Kōkiri

Harley has worked at ANZCO Foods for 9 years, starting out as in the yards and then moving to the boning room before being offered his current role as supervisor. His role includes making sure everyone is happy and healthy when they come to work, and learning about his staff and how to support them - he says everyone feeds off the bosses' vibe, so if you're happy, they'll be happy! He also does some standard data entry, and early injury reporting in Safety Net. 

Harley is a Diversity and Inclusion ambassador for the Kōkiri site, which involves supporting people onsite to share ideas and help make their workplace more inclusive. He has a transmitter that broadcasts music and audiobooks around site that employees can tune in to while they work, and he's also begun making mini podcasts out of the health and safety toolbox talks to play as well. Since working at ANZCO he's been surprised there isn't a universal ‘best practice’ across all sites - he says it seems like every site is different and operates slightly differently.

Outside of work, he's interested in sports - rugby, league, cricket, and touch - and he's recently gotten into winter sports to help maintain his mental health and get out of the house. He also loves horticulture, and teaching his children (a three year old boy and a one year old girl) about growing your own food. After a busy day at work, he'll hang out with his family or friends, and often heads to the sauna with his mates or goes to training.
