Meet Jeff Luttrell

Store Manager at The Local Butcher

Jeff is the Store Manager at The Local Butcher, which is situated right next to ANZCO Foods Marlborough in Blenheim. He's been there for 14 years - he started at the store when it was called Westmeat! While he hasn't held any other roles at ANZCO, he briefly worked at the ANZCO Foods Marlborough site during Covid while The Local Butcher was closed. Jeff says he was surprised about the variety of work at ANZCO - he used to think that it was more of a supermarket style shop, but he's since found it's closer to a traditional butchers shop. He enjoys the hours - he says it's great being able to have the afternoon to do what he wants, and pick up his kids from school every day.

He worked at another small butcher shop in town after leaving school at 15 - his claim to fame is that he won a bronze medal for making bacon at this job! He then worked in the vineyards but hated it, so decided to look for work again as a butcher, which is when he joined ANZCO. 

Outside of work Jeff enjoys hunting and fishing - he heads to north Canterbury for hunting, and goes fishing in the Marlborough Sounds. If he didn't have kids his favourite way to unwind after a busy day would be to go for a snooze, but that doesn't always happen! He's got two children - a seven year old boy and a five year old girl, and he's been married for nearly ten years.
