Meet Jordan Moanaroa

Apprentice Butcher at The Local Butcher

Congratulations to Jordan of The Local Butcher who placed third in the ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice regional competition! The competition involved preparing a range of beef, lamb, pork, and poultry cuts - as well as preparing any other ingredients, garnishing, and displaying the cuts - in a two-hour period. This is the first time Jordan entered and he says he learned a lot from the experience and other contestants and is keen to put his learnings into practice at next year's competition.

Jordan has been an apprentice butcher at The Local Butcher for a little more than a year, and his role includes cutting meat for the shop and wholesale orders. He enjoys the team and the good hours. Before joining ANZCO, he worked at Pak'n Save in the butchery.

Outside of work he likes to unwind by heading to the gym and going hunting. He also has two children who keep him busy - an 18-month old son, and a six-week old girl!
