Meet Kurt Dixon

Production Supervisor at ANZCO Foods Kōkiri

Kurt has worked at ANZCO Foods Kōkiri for nearly 28 years, starting with us in 1997. He started out working as a boner and trimmer, which involved rotating between the tables and the chain - he says it was a good way to learn and have a fair go at everything, especially when some cuts are harder than others! He's been working as a Production Supervisor for around five years now, which involves making sure they have good yields and making sure cuts are done to the right specs for each order, and he also helps to coordinate wages. He'd also pick up heli-logging work with a mate on when Kōkiri had longer shutdowns.

Outside of work, he's interested in fitness - you'll often find him at the gym after a busy day at work - and he enjoys wining and dining, particularly at Bloody Mary's at the Rydges in Christchurch. He's also coached rugby league for about seven years, and his team has made the A-league. This means he often spends his weekends driving over to Christchurch, but he says these trips are great fun, and a good chance for his team to get to know each other.

Kurts claim to fame is that he scored a hole-in-one playing golf. He was playing with a few mates at the Greymouth Gold Course, and he got the hole-in-one on a par-three hole! He says one of his mates bear hugged him so tight he was worried he'd stop breathing!

He's happily married with an adult daughter, and he and his wife have three cats - two ragdolls and a moggy.
