Meet Mark Lewis

Health and Safety Advisor at ANZCO Foods Manawatū

Mark Lewis is the Health and Safety Advisor at Manawatū, and has been at ANZCO for two years. Health and safety is near to Mark's heart after one of his mates tragically lost their life while at work. He also broke his back, which put him out of action for three years, and so he knows and understands the time and effort it takes to recuperate after injuries.

Before coming to ANZCO, he was a health and safety manager at Alliance, and he's worked in the meat industry for most of his life, starting out in a Woolworth's butchery when he was 14 years old. But he hasn't always worked in the meat industry - he's also had a property development role where he often spoke onstage for events, and through this job he was able to attend lunches with Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump!

When he gets home after a busy day, he often doesn't have time to unwind as he's a solo dad to two kids - a 14-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. They live on a farm about 20 minutes away from the Manawatū site, and raise longhorn cows.
