November Health and Safety focus

November’s health and safety focus area is Manual Handling. This a high frequency risk within the industry comprising 56% of injuries that occur across the group. Please remind your teams to talk to your site’s health and safety reps and encourage your supervisors and management teams to lead this initiative.

So far in 2023 we’ve had 631 manual handling incidents recorded across the group, 606 of them resulting in injury to our people.

Our month-long focus on Manual Handling promotes best practice to reduce harm. We’re asking everyone to remember to take care when lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, as we want everyone to go home safe to their family and friends every day.
