Rangitikei’s Strongman

Faleono Tasi (known as Tasi) of ANZCO Foods Rangitikei recently flew to Singapore to compete in the Extinct Games Strongman competition. He came second overall after being invited to compete in the Open grade – the same grade professionals compete in.

As part of this competition, he competed and placed in five different rounds:

• 5^th in the 23 tonne yacht hold
• 8^th in the 300kg axel deadlift
• 1^st in 160kg axel press
• 1^st in the 156kg stone to shoulder
• And 3^rd in the 180kg atlas stone

Tasi won a trophy and 2,000 SGD (about NZ$2,500). Congratulations Tasi – that’s a huge achievement, and a well-deserved result.
