Traffic Management - Health & Safety Focus

For the last couple of years all our sites have made significant progress on their traffic management plans.

Work has included changes to traffic flow with some areas becoming one-way, installing barriers, painting walkways, and changes to processes to provide higher levels of pedestrian and vehicle control.

Traffic management is one of our two-monthly health and safety initiative to focus on key areas where our accidents occur most often, or where there is a high potential for serious injury. And while we’ve made some good progress in this area, there is always room for improvement.

Last year we had 105 incidents involving a vehicle across the group including vehicle vs vehicle, vehicle and pedestrian incidents, or vehicles hitting buildings that were reported as injuries, near misses, or safety observations.

Our focus on traffic management aims to promote best practice and reduce harm.

We are asking everyone to take extra care when moving around our sites, we want all our teams to work safely and go home safely to their family and friends every day.
