Waihopai Hall

Our Being Bold for Change conference for women in the red meat sector offered attendees two scholarships to go towards improving the lives of the recipients or people around them.

One of the applicants, Emma Hoets, wanted to see Marlborough’s Waihopai hall renovated so the local community could use it. She organised a fair in October to raise funds for the renovations. Through the connections made at the conference, we put her in touch with ANZCO Foods Marlborough which supported the fair.

The event ended up attracting more than 500 people and raising $12,500 for the hall. Emma also reported it was fantastic to see the community brought together and get involved in events.
