New Zealand Farm Assurance Programme (NZFAP)

ANZCO Foods is a proud member of the NZFAP, which upholds trusted standards in origin, traceability, food safety, and animal welfare for global markets.

The programme provides independent assurance across key areas including animal and human welfare, environmental stewardship, biosecurity, and traceability, helping verify New Zealand farming practices against international customer expectations.

Core components of NZFAP

NZFAP covers key areas including origin and traceability, food safety, and animal welfare, verified through on-farm audits for certification.

Audit procedure

QCONZ is the official audit provider for NZFAP. To maintain certification, farmers are audited every three years.

NZFAP certification process
  1. Complete and submit the NZFAP application and agreement form to ANZCO Foods’ QA team at QAadmin@anzcofoods.com.

    • Forms are available at www.nzfap.com or by emailing the QA team.

  2. Include additional addresses (within 20km of the home property) on the application. These must operate as one system with shared procedures and records.

  3. Engage and implement NZFAP requirements as per the latest standard (Version 7).
  4. The independent audit provider will contact you to schedule your audit.
    • Note: There is a 4–8 week wait time after submitting your application.

  5. Prepare for the audit using the NZFAP pre-audit checklist (available from the QA Team).
  6. Upon passing, your property becomes NZFAP certified, with recertification required every 3 years.
