Focus on forklift safety

Forklift safety is important for everyone on sites, whether you drive a forklift, work onsite around forklifts, or are visiting an area that uses forklifts.

If you’re driving or are around forklifts, keep these tips in mind:

  • Always wear your seatbelt before using the forklift
  • Always look in the direction of travel whether you’re reversing or driving forward, and ask a coworker to help guide you if your path isn’t clear
  • Put the forks down when you’re approached by a pedestrian. Pedestrians should wait until the forks are lowered before approaching a forklift that’s in use.
