QA Update

Posted on Sunday, 16 October 2022

In last month’s QA update, we gave an overview of how you can prepare to be ready for an audit.

Of the 134 audits completed in September about 39% didn’t pass the first time. The most common non-conformances were in animal health records, chemical records, and management of agrichemicals. We are also noticing a rise in the attention being given to animal welfare, in particular, dog welfare; access to food and water, dog housing, and care.

Emission management continues to be part of conversations for businesses in planning for a profitable, lower-emission future. What does that mean for your business? Which levers can you pull and who can help? And what role can accreditation play in this?

For those of you who are looking for support around emissions management, ANZCO is organising additional NZFAP+ and GHG workshops. They will take place in Ashburton on 18 October and Stratford on 2 November.

And a reminder for those of you interested in the Win the Hilux competition: to be in the draw for the Hilux, there are three things you need to tick off by the end of this year:

  1. Become a member of the NZFAP+ programme, by signing up and completing the self-assessment questionnaire
  2. Know your GHG number for your farm business
  3. Have an emissions action plan

Please feel free to let us know what topics you would like to see covered in our future AQ updates.
